ELVT project addresses the problem of livestock diseases and pests in the seven (7) counties of Yambio, Maridi, Ibba, Nzara, Ezo, Tombura, and Nagero. This is a Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO) funded project for ‘Emergency livelihood support to the crisis-affected population in South Sudan through the distribution of emergency livestock kits to 2,500 HHs

The project targets to train 55 Community Animal Health Workers (CAHWs) in the seven counties, distribute 165 emergency livestock kits to CAHW teams, vaccinate 75,900 heads of livestock and treat 41,250 livestock throughout the geographical location which is an equivalent of 61,000 individuals that will directly benefit from the project.

ELVT focuses on the mobilization and sensitization of the communities and identification of community animal health Workers. Enhancement of capacity of the CAHWs through training and deployment for mass vaccination campaigns in the community
