Overview and Objectives:
Star Trust Organization (STO), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), successfully executed the Sustainable Livelihood Skills Training (SLST) project in Yambio. Commencing in November 2019 and concluding with the graduation of trainees and provision of start-up kits on 23rd September 2020, the project aimed to empower 400 women. The training covered both agricultural and non-agricultural value chains, aligning with high-demand sectors in Yambio. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, all major project outputs were accomplished.
Key Outcomes:
The project focused on elevating income generation and rebuilding the livelihoods of 400 vulnerable women in Yambio through comprehensive skills training. A total of 486 women completed the program and received start-up kits. Training modules included Events Management, Poultry, Juice Processing and Marketing, Vegetable Production, Tailoring, Embroidery, Salon Services, Catering, and Baking.
