Project Title: Youth Employment and Empowerment Project (YEEP)

Project Duration: July 2021 to September 30, 2022


Location: Yambio, Nzara, Ezo, and Tambura Counties, Western Equatoria State (WES), South Sudan


Funding Partner: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Project Objectives: The project was designed to bolster the social and economic resilience of the region’s youth. The YEEP’s core mission was to transform the lives of approximately 1,900 young individuals by equipping them with essential skills and resources. The project focused on delivering comprehensive training in technical and vocational skills, entrepreneurship, and business management. This dual approach aimed to provide the youth with a robust foundation to thrive in today’s competitive environment.

Key Components: 1. Skill Development: The project offered extensive training programs in various technical and vocational fields tailored to meet the current market demands and future opportunities.

  1. Entrepreneurial Enhancement: Participants received in-depth entrepreneurship and business management training, fostering innovation and self-reliance.
  2. Start-up Provision: Following the training, participants were provided with start-up kits, crucial for embarking on their entrepreneurial journeys.
  3. Business Development Support: Ongoing support was offered to ensure the sustainability and growth of the emerging businesses.
  4. Tracer Study: A comprehensive study was conducted post-project to evaluate the performance and impact of the training on the participants’ ventures.
