Project Overview:
The Youth Enterprise Development and Capacity Building (YEDCB) project is a dynamic initiative aimed at empowering young people, particularly women and youths aged 18-35, to become successful entrepreneurs and key contributors to local economies. Over 18 months, the project will foster self-employment and job creation through comprehensive support and targeted interventions. The YEDCB project addresses several critical challenges faced by aspiring entrepreneurs:
Key Components:
Youth Employment Enhancement: Establishing and sustaining Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) by empowering community-led Village Savings and Loans Associations.
Agricultural Value Chain Support: Support the establishment and growth of MSEs along various agricultural value chains, including horticulture, honey production, sesame, groundnuts, poultry farming, fishery, cattle rearing, and shea butter production.
Access to Finance: Provide vital financial support to eligible groups of young entrepreneurs, enabling them to kickstart or expand their ventures through interest-free loans ranging from USD 3,000 to USD 5,000 per MSE,.
Business Development Services: Tailored business development services, entrepreneurship training, and technical skills workshops are provided to equip 380 youth participants with the knowledge and tools necessary for success.
